LandlordsNY was founded in 2012 by a collaboration of landlords who have been working in their respective fields in New York for many years. We often felt overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge and expertise that was necessary for us just to keep up with day-to-day operations, and wanted a network of people who felt a similar way. After all, if two heads are better than one, then a few hundred heads working together would be even better.
This was the inspiration behind LandlordsNY. Since our inception, we have grown from a tight-knit group of landlords and managers to a sprawling organization of more than four thousand members who now also have access to experts from fields as diverse as law, finance, architecture, and construction. We’ve found that the more we have grown, the more our community of members can work together to tackle even the thorniest of questions.
LandlordsNY offers many invaluable tools and services for our members including an interactive lease, Bill Tracker software to manage utility costs, a very popular bi-annual Property Management Symposium, bulk pricing on needed products & services through our Purchase Power program, daily news briefings and legislative announcements, and an on-demand concierge service to provide our members guidance on any number of issues.
This service gives members instant access to LNY in house DHCR, HPD, and Property Management Counselors for immediate help when you need it.
Just like a concierge at a hotel who knows how to guide guests and to remove some of the uncertainty of trying something new, our staff counselors goal is to provide information and guidance to landlords and to take much of the uncertainty out of owning and operating a property in New York.
